UNIVERSAL WOODWORKS began in Harborcreek, PA in1987 by Richard Brown who by that time had already had twelve years of professional experience in the woodworking industry. He learned cabinet making while working three years for Lawrence Phelps and Assoc. (a well known pipe organ builder). Next spending six years at first as pattern maker / designer and then middle management at The Union City Chair Co. a manufacturer of wooden chairs. Next working as a skilled craftsman at Organ Supply Industries (the largest supplier of pipe organ componants in the world) untill he built his own shop in Erie, PA.

Since that time Richard has completed a vast number of projects to which the
documentation of photographs can do no justice!

My cabinet sides and bottoms are constructed with 3/4" select hardwood plywood with solid native hardwood fronts and doors with a fine finish inside and out. Dovetailed drawers, inovative storage design and rock solid construction make my work stand out among competitors!  RB
